We tapped into our German heritage a bit as the inspiration for this vacation haus. Prost means the same thing as “cheers” or “salut!” You will be surrounded by some of the best breweries in the world. This is the perfect place to make a toast with craft beer, mead, cider or wine. We hope that you also enjoy some calorie burning hikes and bike rides, and find plenty of reasons to raise a glass and say “Prost!” with your friends. Our house is located off of a secluded drive in Pisgah Forest. The deck overlooks beautiful trees, including some gorgeous hemlocks which are becoming few and far between in the Carolinas. You will spend most of the time on the back deck looking at some incredible trees and a distant mountain skyline. The main bathroom is located off the master bedroom, and the half bathroom is located off the second bedroom. There is a detached third room located off the garage with a futon for extra sleeping room but does not have it's own bathroom. This room also has strong wifi and could be used as an office space. We have a great coffee maker (Bonavita) and a coffee grinder. There is a coffee roasting company in Brevard and Oskar Blues also has some great coffee beans for sale in their brewery store. 10 minutes outside downtown Brevard, Pisgah National Forest and DuPont.

Enjoy a quiet retreat in a private wooded setting nestled in the WNC mountains, just outside of Brevard. This older house was built in a free-flowing floor plan (all rooms connect, no hallways), which was common in rural areas. The 1960's cottage sits next to a brisk stream that tumbles down the mountainside where it has cut its path for centuries. Its furnishings are cozy and comfortable, and the kitchen, while not state of the art, has everything you need to cook meals if desired. The space is very large, open floor plan, hardwood floors, plenty of natural light and beautiful views of the forest surrounding the house. The large master bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom. The guest room has a queen size bed with the bathroom beside the bedroom. There is also a pull out sofa bed with pillow top mattress topper for extra comfort. That bed is in the reading nook, so it has its own semi- private space overlooking the forest! The coffee station is ready to go and feel free to utilize the washer and dryer if necessary as well. There is a wood burning stove in the living room and firewood available onsight for a small fee. The home is surrounded by five lush acres of woods. There are very nice long-range winter views. Multiple decks in the rear with a large gas grill. The main house consists of a gourmet kitchen, dining area, living room, and powder room on the first floor. Two Bedrooms on the lower level. The lower level has a master king suite with a full bathroom, a queen bed with a full bathroom in the hallway. The annex consists of two rooms - One sitting room full of large sun-filled windows and the other is a TV room/office/mini kitchen and laundry room. Both are large rooms with couches, tables, and futons. The road to the house is paved and a steady narrow steep incline. It is one way but few houses on the road. It can be very dark at night, so take your time. House is the last house at the top with a fantastic view. Approximately 15 minutes to downtown Brevard, 15 minutes to Etowah, 15 minutes to Dupont National Forest, 20 minutes to downtown Hendersonville, and 35 minutes to eclectic downtown Asheville. Nespresso coffee machine and pods, tea, proper disinfectants, full set of pots and pans, oven, brand new refrigerator and freezer, microwave, propane grill, outdoor dining and propane firepit right on the front porch to take in all the views! There is a TV with Dish Network provided but please note, there is no wifi internet provided. One bathroom with shower/tub option with towels, hair dryer and toiletries provided. One bedroom loft with a queen bed with all linens provided. Please note that a ladder is required to get into the loft. We do live full-time on the property past the cabin further up the driveway, if anything is ever needed or if there is an emergency. We are a young family with a very friendly chocolate lab that you might see strolling the property. The road to our house is one in/one out so please beware as driving in (although there aren't many cars that come up or down), but signifies the peace and quiet that we get to experience during your stay. However, if you do not feel the same, we do have a window a/c unit in the kitchen/dining area that will cool the entire house. - There is electric heat for the cool mountain winters. - There is a twin blow up mattress should you have a need to put someone in the living room or in the master. - Having your own vehicle is necessary for coming to the cabin. We have free, onsite parking available with enough space for those who wish to bring their trailers (many of our guests like to bring 4-wheelers to take themselves around the mountain top). Just keep in mind, however that whatever trailer you have must be able to make it up and down the mountain..

The house sits above a pond filled with trout for you to fish, there is a paddle boat for you to utilize, and a dock to jump off of to enjoy a swim in the pond as well. There is also a hiking trail right next to the property. Pops Place also has an open deck to enjoy the evening cool air. Peace, quiet, and privacy as there is only one neighbor across the pond.
